About this Site

This web site has been prepared by the SA Chamber of Mines and Energy Education Program on behalf of the member companies who are involved in the uranium industry in South Australia.

These companies are either mining, are seeking to mine known uranium deposits, or are looking for more deposits in South Australia.

The web site is designed to inform the general community about the current and potential uranium mining operations in SA.

It also deals with many other aspects of the uranium industry including:

  • uses of uranium;
  • what is radioactivity and radiation;
  • sustainable development;
  • waste management;
  • safety; and
  • a comparison of different energy sources.

This site seeks to give the user a broader base of information on which to make an informed decision. We encourage all users to seek further information, to ask questions, and to challenge their sources of information and their current point of view.

This web site has been designed for general use, but contains specific teacher and student pages.

This site uses Adobe Portable Digital Format (pdf) and Macromedia Flash documents - links to download Acrobat Reader and Macromedia Flash player are  below.
